note to techies:
Since MacPoint, at this "point" in time, is primarily an interface to Mike Ratledge's QMX/XRS system, MacPoint now creates .PKT files that are as similar to XRS packets as possible, right down to the CR/LF pairs before the tearline and origin line; the baud rate and product ID code in the packet header; the space between "AREA:" and the echo-tag; the fakenet number in the path line and the bossnode's net/node number in the seen-by; etc.
A couple of things that XRS has which MacPoint doesn't are EID's in the messages and, I've noticed XRS puts some data in the unassigned bytes of the packet headers, the purpose of which is unknown to me.
